Captain Andrew Kinsey spent over 25 years sailing in the Merchant Marine, including 13 years as Master Unlimited Tonnage.  His sailing experience was primarily with Maersk Lines, sailing as Master on three different classes of Self Geared Vessels. He served in Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm, Restore Hope, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom, and received the Merchant Marine Expeditionary Medal.

He began apprenticing as a Marine Surveyor in 1997.  After coming ashore in 2006, Andrew worked as an independent Marine Surveyor then on staff with ACE/US Commercial Marine – Marine Advisory Service, and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.

In November 2021 Andrew joined Liberty Mutual Insurance where he focuses on Underwriting Support for Global Project Cargo, Hull, Marine Liability and Cargo accounts. This includes working with assureds in planning and development stages; as well as in the field conducting Loss Control & Marine Warranty Surveys.

He is Chairman of the AIMU Technical Services Committee, serves on the National Cargo Bureau Operations Committee and the International Union of Marine Insurance’s Loss Prevention Committee.  He is a NAMSGlobal Certified Marine Surveyor, as well as a Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors Accredited Marine Surveyor.
