The Global Loss Prevention Director for the Managers of American P&I Club, Shipowners Claims Bureau, Inc., Dr. William Moore boasts 27 years of experience in the development and implementation of award-winning range of loss prevention initiatives including the Club’s Pre-Employment Medical Examination program.
He acquired his doctorate degree at the University of California at Berkeley in Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering and Masters of Science degree of Ocean Systems Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Moore is the former chair of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Joint Maritime Safety Committee & Marine Environmental Protection Committee’s working group on the Human Element. He was formerly a senior consultant with a major classification society and worked with another member of the International Group of P&I Clubs.
He currently is a member of the INTERTANKO Human Element in Shipping Committee, member of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Committee on U.S. Coast Guard Oversight of Recognized Organizations and a member of the American Bureau of Shipping.
