Efrain Ignacio Sora is Vice President – Marine Underwriting, Latin America and the Caribbean for Navigators Insurance Company, a brand of The Hartford. Mr. Sora is a veteran of the insurance and reinsurance industry with more than 20 years, having been on both sides of the business as an insurance agent and an underwriter focusing on maritime risk with experience in US, LatAm, Caribbean and European markets. In his current role, he is responsible for the strategic direction and underwriting results of the company’s Hull & Machinery, Cargo, Marine Liabilities and Ports/Terminals facultative reinsurance product offerings throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

As a member of the Association of Latin American Marine Underwriters (ASLUM), Mr. Sora currently serves on the associations Hull & Machinery and Liabilities committee providing local market insights and advising on global risk trends.

Mr. Sora received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida International University and, in 2021, Mr. Sora earned a Master of Science in Risk Management & Insurance from Florida State University.
