Jarek has spent 34 years in his professional career and always been attached to Maritime Industry. As a seafarer, he started shortly after graduation in capacity of a cadet. Over next decade, and stepping progressively up to higher ranks, was promoted to Master Mariner and offered a command over a merchant ships, which he held for 5 years. After having spent 16 years at sea he retired from seafaring in 2005. Before moving to Insurance industry, Jarek held a role of ships’ operator in UK, Owner’s Representative in Latin and South America, Transport Engineer in Germany and finally moved to Singapore to start his journey into Marine Insurance.
Since September 1st, 2021 Jarek has been based in New York, The United States of America and supports Underwriters and the clients in various risk management activities.
- Over 16 years of seagoing experience, including 5 years in command as Master,
- Served aboard General Cargo Ships, Ro-Ro, Semi-Containers. Bulk Carriers and Multi-Purpose / Heavy lift vessels,
- Specializes in Builder’s risks, Terminal Operators Liabilities, Hull and Machinery, including Blue and Brown water fleets,
- Extensive experience with Large Project Cargo, Commodities, Supply Chain Security, Cold Supply Chain,
- Worked 7 years as Port Captain, Cargo Superintendent and Owners Representative in Europe, South America and Asia,
- 11 years in Marine Risk Consulting for Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty, XL Catlin and AXA XL (Americas & APAC).
