Responsibilities
Patrick is the U.S. Marine Practice Leader for Aon’s Marine Practice in the United States. Responsibilities include strategic planning for Aon’s presence in the marine industry and consistent delivery of high- quality products and services to clients. He assists with the strategic planning and program design for many of Aon’s clients and supports the broking process with high level negotiations.
Experience
Patrick has over 28 years of experience in the Marine Insurance Industry.16 of those have been with Aon (1996-2003; 2012-Present). Patrick started his career as an Assistant Average Adjuster with Seaborne International, Inc. and two years later joined the company’s brokerage department. From there, Patrick enjoyed a seven-year career as a Senior Broker at Alexander & Alexander/ Aon Risk Services, Inc., marketing and servicing Hull & Machinery and Protection & Indemnity Club business for both domestic and foreign clients. Patrick left the brokerage side and joined XL Marine & Offshore Energy, where he worked for two years underwriting and servicing a book of international Bluewater business and domestic Brownwater business. At Mutual Marine Office, Inc. / Prosight Specialty, Patrick was a multi-line Underwriter where he oversaw a book comprised of Hull and Machinery, Marine Liability and Offshore Energy business.
Expertise
Patrick has devoted much of his 18 years on the brokerage side of the business to the design, placement and handling of medium to large risk management programs, predominantly for marine industry companies. Technical coverage experience includes Bluewater and Brownwater Hull & P&I, Marine Liabilities and Bumbershoot Coverages.
